- Exposed my hair to too much heat-where possible minimise the use of hair straighteners, blow dryers. Now that I know better I air dry or sit under a hooded dryer at the salon. Hair is protein in nature and excessive use of heat disrupts the bonds that hold the hair together thus hair breakage.
- Didn't wash my hair as often as I should. It is recommended to wash hair at least twice a week, I will confess with my tight schedule I can wash twice. Will dwell into it in coming posts. Bottom line is we wash hair to remove product build up, aerate scalps pore
- Retouching/relaxing my hair within 6 weeks. I stretched the time between relaxes to 12 weeks. When I do relax, focus will be on the growth only.
- Not trimming my hair...well my excuse is I haven't found someone I trust with my hair. Until then I will try and have protective hair styles.
